Follow all local, state, and federal regulations when servicing mobile A/C systems. Read this instruction sheet before starting any repairs.
Use the specified oil and only add 1 to 1.5 ounces in the compressor. The oil in the freon can is not sufficient.
Remove the compressor, receiver drier or accumulator, orifice tube, or expansion valve.
Flush the condenser and evaporator using NON-OIL BASED A/C flush. On expansion valve systems, THE VALVE MUST BE REMOVED before the evaporator can be flushed. Flush condensers from outlet to inlet and evaporators from inlet to outlet.
WARNING: Newer style condenser designs are very hard, and sometimes it would be impossible to flush. In those cases, it is suggested that if the compressor has a major failure, the condenser should be replaced.
Drain all the oil from the new compressor and dispose of it according to local, state, and federal laws. NOTE: If your compressor has a drain plug, you will need to open it and drain the oil inside as well.
Install half of the oil charge into the compressor and the remainder throughout the system. Turn the compressor shaft 8-10 full revolutions to ensure the front seal and other internal parts are lubricated.
Install a new receiver drier or accumulator and a new orifice tube or expansion valve.
Evacuate the A/C system for a minimum of one hour.
After evacuation, install half of the refrigerant charge and let the system set for 1 minute. This will allow the refrigerant to pick up oil and spread more evenly throughout the system.
Start the engine with A/C controls on MAX AIR with doors and windows open.
Add the remaining charge of refrigerant as specified by the manufacturer.
